It is an Introductory course to Remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) and its applications in basic and advanced Geoscience research. It focusses on understanding of Remote sensing techniques (using both earth observation and Navigational satellites data) and GIS mapping to study geological activities on mother earth. The course consists of the series of lectures followed by hands-on/practical in the second half and includes basic remote sensing and GIS and advance remote sensing applications in Geosciences. The course is designed with a view to provide participants an understanding of the scientific concepts associated with remote sensing and its applications to various geoscientific problems. The participants will also gain knowledge and ability to process, analyze and apply Remote Sensing and GIS tool in various geological studies.
